Mount the flasher so that air will flow around it. This high technology flasher does not require a heat sink but its life will be maximized if it is mounted so that it stays cool. A location in the front of the engine compartment, close to the battery is usually preferred.

Connect the BLACK wire to a reliable chassis negative connection point. Connect the RED wire through a 15 Amp Fuse to +12 Volts. The RED wire must be always connected to +12 Volts. If the flasher does not receive power, it will not be able to override the cut in the wiring made during installation. Operation of the flasher is turned on and off by applying +12 V to the WHITE wire through a switch. While +12 V is switched to the WHITE wire, the flasher will operate. When the WHITE wire is not connected to +12 V and the flasher is powered, it is still awake and will detect high-beam voltage on one lamp and drive voltage to the other lamp.

Locate the wire that connects the left and right high-beam filaments together. Refer to the wiring diagram where CUT 'X' is illustrated. The wire must be cut and taped so that the two lamps are electrically separated. The flasher's BLUE and YELLOW wires must be tapped into each of the wires that connect to each of the left and right high-beam filaments. Refer to the diagram where TAP 'Y' and TAP 'Z' is illustrated. The flasher detects when the dimmer switch causes voltage to be applied to one or the other high-beam filaments and the flasher then applies voltage to the other filament.
